Jackson Elementary
School is located in Indio, California in the desert of the Coachella Valley,
approximately 20 miles east of Palm Springs. We get a lot of sunshine here
and some VERY warm temperatures in the summer. Our winters are beautiful
and thousands of snowbirds visit here every year. Our valley is home to
many world famous golf, tennis, and equestrian events.
So far, this
year we've really had fun studying plants, animals of the desert, penguins,
the solar system and farm animals. In March we'll begin our study of frogs,
which takes us to the Rain Forest, which leads us to Earth Day in April.
Insects, with a concentration on ants, will end our year.
